  1. The integration of accounting, auditing and investigative skills yields the specialty known as forensic accounting. “Forensic Accounting” provides an accounting analysis that is suitable to the court, which will form the basis for discussion, debate and ultimately dispute resolution. Forensic Accounting encompasses both Litigation Support and Investigative Accounting. In order to properly perform these services a Forensic Accountant must be familiar with legal concepts and procedures. Forensic accountants are experienced auditors, accountants, and investigators of legal and financial documents that are hired to look into possible suspicions of fraudulent activity within a company; or are hired by a company who may just want to prevent fraudulent activities from occurring. They are trained to look beyond the numbers and deal with the business reality of the situation.

Some of the popular services that forensic accountants perform include:

--Fraud vulnerability assessments and fraud prevention
    --Expert witnessing
--Investigative consulting (pretrial and trial support)
    --Commercial damages
    --Corporate governance assistance
    --Business valuations
    --Business acquisition and dissolution support
--Financial matters arising in divorce settlements
